Biography
Dramatic Lyric Soprano
Like no other, Nadiia Sheremetieva unites superb vocal virtuosity with a refined artistic sensibility, creating a stage presence marked by brilliance, precision and emotional radiance.
Although only in recent years active on major stages, Sheremetieva has already established herself as a compelling dramatic coloratura soprano whose performances combine technical clarity with expressive depth. Her operatic repertoire spans central roles of the Italian and classical canon, including Mimì in La Bohème, Violetta in La Traviata, Gilda in Rigoletto, Suor Angelica in Suor Angelica, Cio-Cio-San in Madama Butterfly, Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi, the Countess in Don Giovanni, the Queen of the Night in Die Zauberflöte and many others, reflecting both the dramatic intensity and agile brilliance of her voice.
She began her musical education in Ukraine and continued her studies at the National Music Academy of Ukraine in Kyiv, later graduating from the Tchaikovsky State Conservatory in Moscow. She is currently refining her artistry under Prof. Javier Alonso at Dr. Hoch's Konservatorium in Frankfurt am Main. Her artistic development has further been shaped through masterclasses with Olga Bezsmertna (Wiener Staatsoper), Gianluca Terranova (Teatro alla Scala) and Volodymyr Hryshko (Metropolitan Opera).
Sheremetieva is the recipient of several international awards, including First Prize at the Salzburg Competition (Austria, 2025), Third Prize in American Classical Music Award (USA, 2025), First Prize at the YES Academy for American Broadway Competition (Oklahoma City, USA, 2006), First Prize at the 11th Swiss International Music Competition (Switzerland, 2025), and Third Prize at the London International Music Competition (UK, 2025). She was also distinguished at the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels (Belgium, 2011).
As a concert artist, she has appeared in major venues such as the Berlin Philharmonie, the Wiener Musikverein (Vienna Musikverein), and concert halls across Poland, Austria and Switzerland. She has also performed throughout the broader Middle Eastern region — including engagements in Jordan, Tunisia and other cultural centers. Her concert repertoire spans from Baroque to contemporary works, with acclaimed performances of Mozart's Requiem, Verdi's Requiem and the Masses of Bruckner.
In 2010 she made her screen debut in Damascus with Love, a feature film by director Mohamad Abdul Aziz — an experience that broadened her artistic perspective beyond the classical stage.
With her cultivated technique, artistic depth and wide-ranging musical experience, Nadiia Sheremetieva continues to inspire audiences across Europe and beyond.
